As ridiculous as it sounds, the new stadium hasn't just pissed people off, it's also partly killed their love of football, as that and the club doesn't resemble what people grew up loving and looking forward too.

Will never return now and so will eventually leave it all and be replaced by modern football fans, just the way it is.

The buzz doesn't have to die. As quickly as possible, the fans need to sit/stand with like minded fans. If for example, the BML and all the lower corners end up full of die hard noisy standing ST holders, and the team gave them a few performances to enjoy, you could still have a good day out, especially with all the different kinds of pubs around.

At the moment, most of all, it's a mixture of shit matches and people telling you to sit down that spoiling what could be a good day out.

I've always admired your attitude Lily, and wish I could be more like you, but the place is fucking shit. An absolute disaster.

This!

Spot on, yesterday morning I said to my old man I was looking forward to being back watching West Ham after missing the Watford game but i wasnt too fussed about going to the OS. 'Im excited but not as much or like i would be if we was going to Upton Park' or something along those lines was my feeling

But it won't change so lets make the best out of a shit situation and try and get it rocking saturday for Boro

I'm with One Mac on this one.

It might still be called the Bobby Moore Lower but it definitely doesn't even have nearly the same clientele and characters as before, all the moody fuckers on the old east stand side have now dispersed and it's been replaced with a bunch of tarts!

Spot on. I'm used to lots of singing, lots of chanting, lots of voice....where we're sitting at the moment is full of plastic tourist fans or locals who have suddenly decided to support west ham. yesterday got into a row with a bloke a few rows in front because he took exception to my mate shouting his disgust at a referring decision. some bird and her hipster looking fella kept looking round whenever anyone shouted 'irons', 'come on you irons' etc as if we were spoiling their date....

It simply isnt a football stadium . The sooner the two tight cunts and brady fuck off the better .and maybe we might get new owners who will buy the stadium and do a proper conversion into a football stadium .

I agree, we need players like Payet and Antonio to take the game by the scruff of the neck and get the fans of their feet.

i think the only way for that to happen would be to demolish and start again. i honestly can't think of a thing they could do to convert the current mess into a proper football stadium.

That's how I feel too. If I hadn't renewed my ST, which I'm still paying for, I would have stopped going already. Current form isn't helping, but I doubt I'd feel that much more enthused if we were top.

The stadium is fucking pony. I truly can't believe the absolute hatchet job they've done on it, fucking catastrophe.

You've been there; I haven't, so I'm only theorising any possible way of saving the buzz to some extent. All the reports I'm hearing and reading are breaking my heart, though.

But the only options are, give it all up, or do something about it.

We may as well be re- named Arsenal-lite.

The Stadium Is an abomination.

Everything we grew up loving about football has been slowly eroded.
But up until last season we still had some feel of how it's always been.
The fried onions and shit grub..the stall holders of many yrs..
.the general familiarity has been wiped away by that cunt Brady.
Bit it's done now..fuck all we can do about it.
We had our chance to protest..but too many were taken in with lies and promises by these people.

The old place is getting bulldozed this week.
Which is kicking a man when he's down..
Im not even angry anymore.
Just feel very sad and numb

*Will never return now and so will eventually leave it all and be replaced by modern football fans, just the way it is.*

The hard truth is: what most of us fellas are addicted to is dead / dying, left behind at UP, and we either have to accept what's being served, or walk away. And the time when the board had to concern themselves with OUR needs has already passed into history.

HairyHammer 6:30 Mon Sep 26
Re: Time to embrace the London Stadium!
theaxeman is right you have no choice but to accept it.

This whole hate for the stadium is more about the form of the team than the Stadium, none of you who hate it have seen West Ham perform well on it yet, therefore you automatically see it as a failure.

Watford Southampton and even Accrington Stanley did not mind it so what is the problem? it is just moaning for the sake of moaning.
No one likes losing you will never know how good the stadium is if you have not played well and won on it a few times the Bournemouth win was a late robbery so that will not give us much indication either.

HairyHammer 6:34 Mon Sep 26
Re: Time to embrace the London Stadium!
I went enough times in my life to Upton park to know that the atmosphere could be shit there too.

Playing shit football is not conductive to great atmosphere and over the years West Ham have played a lot of shit football.

if we played like the Brazil team of 1970, the fact remains that we are playing in a field in the middle of an athletics bowl

Re: Time to embrace the London Stadium!
Chelsea should be the first real decent atmosphere, regardless of our league position by then. Midweek cup game against them, if that doesn't generate some noise, then we really are fucked.

Takashi Miike 6:42 Mon Sep 26
Re: Time to embrace the London Stadium!
......and of course opposing teams like it. I'd like it too if the home fans were sat about 300 yards from the pitch
